French Fashion Designer Yves Henri Donat Mathieu-Saint-Laurent was born in Algeria in 1938. Most notably, Yves was an assistant to Christian Dior and eventually was Dior's successor as head designer at the Dior Boutique in Paris. Yves eventually opened his own boutiques and houses of couture in both Paris and New York. In the 1970's he revolutionized the fashion world with boldly designed suits that were both sophisticated and powerful for the chic business woman.
