
The world renowned House of Gucci was founded in beautiful Florence, Italy. Equipped with fine leather working and tailoring skills passed down from generations of Italian tradition, Guccio Gucci opened the first Gucci boutique in in 1921. Together with his three sons, Aldo, Vasco, and Rodolfo, expanded the company to Milan, Rome, and additional stores in Florence. As a result of material shortages during World War II, Gucci made handbags with cotton canvas. The canvas handbags were distinguished by a signature double-G symbol combined with prominent red and green bands. Today, Gucci is the largest selling Italian brand and provides chic and luxurious fashions to all.
